Maths: MahiTahi classroom scale.

Classroom Scale.

Over the pass few weeks, my maths group have been learning about scale. We have started to do a smaller version of the Mahi Tahi classroom onto our maths books, we have all measured it from the outside which were in meters, so to draw the classroom in our books and use scale, we must change m to cm. It wasn't too hard to do until we had to measure the inside of Mahi Tahi and also measure all the furniture. Since all of us have nearly finished drawing the classroom onto bigger paper. Mr D has got homework for us, we have to measure are bedrooms at home and put it into scale. We will also be making our rooms into a box, the box must be sized by scale so we might have to add boxes onto other boxes, we will also make all the furniture with cardboard and color it in then we will either sellotape or glue the furniture to the inside of the shoe boxes. This homework is due next week on Monday.

The lonely ferret!

The Lonely Ferret

Once upon a time, there lived a ferret. Not an ordinary ferret, But a lonely ferret. One day the ferret tried to make friends with the other animals in the forest, but they shook their heads to the side and walked off. The little Ferret was sad, he was so lonely that he made puppets to try and comfort himself. But that would never work because they weren't real.

On the ferrets birthday he went for a walk in the forest on the path, when he was half way thru he came upon a group of guys they were.. PIGS. The ferret tried to walk past and ignore them but they tripped him up and threw there poop all over him. The ferret was sad and upset and so he got up and walked home covered in poop. When the ferret got home he had a bath and had his dinner, and got into his PJ’S And went to bed and fell asleep.

In the morning the ferret got up and had a cup of coffee, and suddenly there was a knock at the door, he was wondering to himself, “Why would someone knock on my door?” So he went over to his door and opened it. Then he saw a goat! The goat wanted to be friends with the ferret and so they became best friends! They made their own hut, and had brunch together every day! They did everything together! They were the best of friends! They lived, happily ever after!

What we do in Mahi Tahi.

In Mahi Tahi we do... Adim/Roll, reading, brain break, maths, morning tea, writing, independent, lunch, and either we have something like more independent time or art sometimes we do sports instead. The special events we have is.. one of them is house colour day which is when 4 of the house colours will dress up in their house colours and come to school and we do these rotations for the house colour day and the house colour that has the most points gets i don't know yet, the 4 house colours are Ruderthed (red), Shepard (yellow), Blake (blue) and Hilliary (green)... On Fridays we have fun Friday which is when we have 4 rotations and the 3 class's will be rotate around, 10P has ICT first then we have technology then we have cooking then we have Mandarin then after lunch we do... something fun like go out for a game.

What if rats were round?

If rats were round they wouldn’t be able to fit threw a rat hole or a mouse hole they wouldn’t be able to get away from cats but it would be funny watching a cat try to get a mouse/ rat cause a cat would also be fat! And then the rat/mouse may have a chance to get away from the cat but no where to go hide because it too fat to fit into a small space and the mouse traps will be too small for a rat to get trapped in it but if they did get trapped in it that will go down nasty because the fat rat would pop like a balloon.
